PROMETEO at PHRS13 

The International Conference on Photosynthetic and Hydrogen Energy Research (PHRS13) took place in Gaeta (Italy) from the 17th to 20th of May 2026.

This conference is a forum for students, postdoctoral fellows, and scientists from different countries to deepen their knowledge and understanding, broaden their professional contacts, create new opportunities, and establish new collaborations.

The scientific program encompasses the breadth and depth of photosynthesis and hydrogen energy systems, ranging from fundamental research aspects to practical applications. In fact, the two main topics of the conference are

• “Photosynthesis Research for Sustainability”, devoted to the study of the structure, functions and biogenesis of the photosynthetic apparatus. Within this direction, the problems of light-driven processes of photosynthesis, regulation of photosynthesis and its metabolism, as well as the sustainability of the photosynthetic apparatus to stress factors have been discussed.
• “Hydrogen Energy Research for Sustainability”, devoted to the studies of biological production of hydrogen. This direction of the Conference included recent advances in the study of the molecular basis of photosynthetic hydrogen formation.

On May 18, PROMETEO was presented in a poster thanks to Gianpaolo d’Andrea and Mariagiovanna MINUTILLO – from the project partner Distretto Atena Future Technolgies and more specifically from the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Salerno and the Department of Engineering, University of Naples “Parthenope”.

The poster was titled Pilot-Scale Demonstration of Green Hydrogen Production via 25 kW SOEC System and described the system of the PROMETEO project
